Overview

AM TRACE has an immediate opening for a full time Public Health Nurse for COVID-19 VACCINE Quality Assurance to support Orange County COVID-19 vaccine distribution and immunization programs county wide. This position will begin immediately. Candidates will work both remotely from a home office and onsite at various locations within Orange County, California.

  

The Public Health Nurse for COVID-19 VACCINE Quality Assurance will provide quality assurance oversight for the COVID-19 vaccination program, including tracking inventory, ensuring proper handling of COVID-19 vaccine, performing quality assurance activities, and serving as a liaison to assigned vaccine clinic sites. This includes maintaining stakeholder communications and relationships.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality assurance oversight for assigned vaccine clinic sites\
  • Track COVID-19 vaccine inventory for assigned vaccine clinic sites
  • Serve as point of escalation for vaccine record requests that cannot be handled by frontline staff. 
  • Answer vaccine record requests and provide immunization record transcription on an as needed basis
  • Implement quality assurance measures to ensure proper vaccine management, handling, and distribution to various vaccination sites
  • Perform quality assessments and data collection, such as throughput and total number of individuals vaccinated
  • Liaise with local vaccine clinics and distribution locations to facilitate adherence to appropriate protocols
  • Share evidence-based practices, improvement strategies and educational resources with program stakeholders to ensure testing program success
  • Provide guidance and technical assistance to vaccine providers in storing and handling of vaccine
  • Perform site visits to assigned vaccine clinic sites at regular intervals
  • Provide information to data collection team
  • Ensure compliance with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Vaccine Tracking System (VTrckS), the COVID Vaccination Management System (CVMS), the California Immunization Registry (CAIR2) or any related federal or state databases developed for the distribution and tracking of a COVID-19 vaccine

Qualifications

Educational Requirements and Professional Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • California Registered Nursing (RN) license
  • Public Health Nurse (PHN) certification
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience
  • Experience in immunizations required
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certifcate

General Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Access to reliable transportation.
  • Excellent organizational and keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Critical thinking and sound judgment required.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

 

Technology Requirements:

 

  • PC with Windows 10 or Mac with Mac OS 10.15 or newer.
  • Antivirus Protection: Windows Defender and Windows Firewall, for Mac Antivirus Protection: Sophos.
  • Experience with Google Suite.
  • Must have a quiet, dedicated workspace.
  • User provided home high-speed network connection.
